What’s so great about Arizona?

We get this question all the time from people who have not yet visited Arizona. We used to just say, “how about 350 days of sunshine?” But now we have a few more things to tell you about how great it is to live and play in Arizona!

How about them Diamondbacks? If you’re not a baseball fan, let us tell you about our home team! The Arizona Diamondbacks play in Phoenix and while they do not have the franchise name that the Yankees do – let’s face it we are still new kids on the baseball diamond – the team is having a smashing good year! In the playoff games this week, the team hit grand slams to tie up the series with Milwaukee. Take us out to the ball game and let’s root for the home team!

Have you ever seen an Oryx? Take a visit to the Phoenix Zoo and see the mythical-like animal that they have brought back from near extinction. The Oryx is of the antelope species that is native to the Arabian Peninsula and was deemed extinct in the wild in 1972. But the folk at the Zoo said, “We can save it” and have successfully bred more than 200 Oryx since 1963. Folklore tells us that the Oryx is a magical creature with horns like a unicorn. Maybe you’ll get lucky like the Diamondbacks are right now if you see one!

Arizona State University uses crowd sourcing to solve big problems! Our great institution of higher learning doesn’t wait for answers and instead uses new technology and ideas to seek them out. Their 10,000 solutions website  already has attracted more than 475 ideas on issues in education, technology, communities, sustainability, the economy, health, human rights and discovery. ASU expects thousands more to stream in over the next six months, creating a “solutions bank” that university officials and faculty can draw from and encourage or implement. What are you waiting for? Get to thinking!

The twinkling stars in the sky and meteor showers give off quite a show during the Arizona nights. The sky in Arizona can be the bluest of blue during the day but at night the velvety blackness gives way to millions of shining points of light. Right now, the autumn nights let us more clearly see the brilliance of the “Summer Triangle” formed by the stars Vega, Altair and Deneb. And do not fear the Comet Elenin, NASA officials have confirmed it won’t blow Earth out of the Milky Way!

So you see there’s much to love about Arizona. If you’ve never taken the time to treat yourself to a golf vacation in our great state, then it’s time that you do so! Give us a call and we will take care of all the details! Who knows, you may love it so much you will want to stay! We can help you with that too!
