Golf is More Than a Spritz in a Bottle

Paul Rice and Co. is a fragrance company that really loves golf. The Italian perfume company has developed a signature scent called Birdie, which promises to bring the course to you. The cologne combines all the familiar scents of the golf course: fresh-cut grass, sand, morning dew and lavender. Presumably they’ve left the more fragrant aspects of the locker room out of the bottle.

For those that enjoy a subtler reminder of the greens, you can purchase a Birdie-scented shampoo.

At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we love golf, but we’re not sure the joy of the sport can be captured in a fragrance. Instead of spraying on the cologne and dreaming of playing a round, consider booking a vacation with us and experience the real thing.

Our golf vacation packages offer you the chance to play three rounds of golf on premier Southern Arizona courses. You can choose Tucson or Scottsdale for your destination, playing three rounds of golf in either destination. Our vacations allow you to tailor your play, meaning you can challenge yourself with difficult courses, or simply select three rounds that will show off the diversity of Arizona’s terrain.

For a more authentic vacation experience, skip the impersonal hotel room  and consider renting a vacation property from Mountain Vista Real Estate. Unlike most rental companies, we require no long-term commitment, stay for three days or three months, whatever your plans entail. Now doesn’t that sound better than a few spritzes of cologne?

Falling for Golf Shouldn’t be a Literal Experience

sinkholeMark Mihal has always loved golf. As the co-founder of Fantasy Golf Site golfmanna.com, Mihal knows his way around the greens. On his most recent outing in Illinois, however, Mihal came upon a hazard he needed help with: he fell into an 18-foot sinkhole that formed on the 14th hole.

Mihal injured his shoulder, but emerged from the hole otherwise unharmed and with a golf story that should win him free rounds at the clubhouse for years to come.

At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we know that you can’t always predict what will happen on a round of golf, but completing 18 holes should be an attainable goal.DSC_0084_edited-2

Remember the Fun of the Game with a Golf Vacation

rory-mcilroy-6Lately, it seems like Rory McIlroy has been feeling the strain. Ranked as the number one golfer in the world, McIlroy became a household name this year and began a lucrative endorsement contract with Nike.

All this attention hasn’t helped his game. McIlroy dropped out of the Honda Classic halfway through the second round citing a sore tooth. Some think that poor play was the real reason and that the 23-year-old golfer is feeling the pressure of being the number one player.

At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we feel for Rory. We believe that golf shouldn’t be stressful; it should be fun. One of the best ways to remember the reasons you started playing golf in the first place is by taking a golf vacation.

No pressure. No ESPN coverage. Just fun.

Book a Tucson or Scottsdale vacation package for a chance to play three rounds of golf on premier southern Arizona courses. The best part of our packages is the variety. You can tailor your vacation to challenge your skills or simply choose three courses that allow you to experience the diverse beauty of Arizona’s landscapes.

If you want to fully relax, consider renting a property from Mountain Vista Real Estate instead of an impersonal hotel room. You’ll be able to relax and spread out in an environment that feels like home. Each property comes with cable, high-speed internet and a fully stocked kitchen standard. What better way to quietly decompress after a long day on the links?Ventana Canyon Course

The best part of a Mountain Vista rental is that we don’t require a long-term commitment. Stay for six months or three days, whatever your vacation plans require.

Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations believes that golf should be fun for everyone. Whether you’re Rory McIlroy or just a weekend duffer, you should be able to enjoy your time on the course and make sure you play all 18 holes! So visit us to remember why golf is the greatest game in the world.

We Salute the Rory Foundation

At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, it’s no secret that we like number one ranked golfer Rory McIlroy. But now, it seems Rory likes Tucson too.

The golfer extraordinaire is going to raise money for a local charity as part of his Rory Foundation’s six bags project. The foundation raises funds for children’s charities around the world.

Rory McIlroy's photo: The Rory Foundation launched its first fundraising initiative yesterday. For more information on the 6 Bags Project visit www.roryfoundation.com

McIlroy says “When I was younger my parents sacrificed everything to allow me to play the game I love. Having that support from my family gave me the opportunity to chase my dreams. But I know that every child is not so fortunate. My aim is that The Rory Foundation will support children¹s charities big and small, around the world, that try to give kids that helping hand.”

To do this, McIlroy will use a special golf bag for each of the first six tournaments of 2013. Each bag will sport the logo of a children’s charity. During the tournament, the golf bag will be auctioned off through the foundation.

February 20-24, Rory will be supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson at the Accenture Match Play Championship.

If you want to support the Tucson, but don’t have the money to bid on a golf bag, consider a fabulous golf vacation. At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we offer wonderful golfing packages for the Tucson and Scottsdale area. Each package allows you the chance to play three rounds of golf on premier Southern Arizona courses. You can tailor your package to your vacation plans: Challenge yourself with three rounds of increasing difficulty or simply enjoy the varied terrain of Arizona golf courses.

To really immerse yourself in Arizona culture, consider renting a luxury property from Mountain Vista Real Estate. Unlike typical companies, we don’t require a long-term commitment; we rent for three days or months at a time.

Whether you’re hoping to see Rory McIlroy or just want to enjoy the best of Southern Arizona Golf, Tucson and Scottsdale are ideal locations to spend your vacation.

Don’t Buy Cold Weather Gear, Come Visit Us Instead

Experienced golfers know that cold weather isn’t good for the greens. Studies show that for every ten degrees the temperature drops, golf balls lose 2 to 2.5 yards. That means that in 40 degree weather the ball will travel 8 yards less than it would in 80 degree weather.

Now, there might be a solution to this problem. Cold Fusion Golf has developed a ball that functions well in an under-60 degree environment.

Golf

At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we celebrate any innovation in the sport, but we have one question: Who wants to golf in 40 degree weather?

Book one of our amazing golfing packages this winter and enjoy the benefits of a warm climate, perfect for golfing. Our Tucson and Scottsdale packages offer you the opportunity to play three rounds of golf on some of Southern Arizona’s finest courses. Choose a vacation that challenges you with courses that vary in difficulty, or simply choose a package that allows you to experience the diverse landscape in the area.

To get the real experience of life in Southern Arizona, skip the hotel and rent a luxurious property from Mountain Vista Real Estate. Unlike typical rental properties, we don’t require a long-term commitment. Rent for three days of six months, whatever your vacation requires. Each property comes with high-speed internet and cable, as well as a fully stocked kitchen.

When you rent a property from us, it allows you to truly experience the best of the area. You’ll live close to fabulous golf courses, cook your own meals if you wish and spread out in an environment that feels like home.

golf 2This year, instead of bundling up before you hit the greens, consider golfing in a place that doesn’t require a parka and special golf balls. You can use the money you save to buy extra drinks as you watch the sun set in an outdoor bar.

Tucson is More Than Great Golf — But We Have That Too!

Every holiday season, winter wonderlands are front and center in every commercial and decorating scheme. And while we at Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations enjoy a snowy scene as much as the next person, we also don’t believe that winter is the key to the season.

Visit Tucson to get a different take on the holiday season. This year, learn how other cultures celebrate the season by visiting the El Nacimiento. This traditional Mexican Nativity is set up every year at La Casa Cordova starting November 17 and running throughout the holiday season. The nativity combines traditional Spanish Catholic imagery with the mainstays of Mexican rural faith. View hundreds of miniature figures, lights and replica dwellings all celebrating Christmas.

But after you enjoy the exhibit, it’s time to hit the course. Unlike areas that have winter wonderlands, Tucson boasts the perfect weather for golf. Book one of our golfing packages in Tucson and Scottsdale for a chance to experience Southern Arizona’s best golfing. Each package gives you the opportunity to play on three of the area’s premier golf courses. You can choose courses that vary in difficulty or terrain, each package is a different experience.

After you book a package, it’s time to figure out where you’ll be staying for your holiday vacation. Instead of booking an impersonal hotel room, consider staying at a luxury vacation rental. Visit Mountain Vista Real Estate for a chance to see the best in rentals throughout Southern Arizona. Unlike typical rentals, we don’t require a long-term commitment. Book a property for three days or a couple of months, whatever your vacation requires. All of our properties come standard with high-speed internet and cable.

This holiday season, it’s time to expand your experiences beyond winter wonderland holidays. Take in some desert culture, and enjoy some fantastic golfing while you’re here.

Even a Good Course Needs an Update

The La Paloma Country Club’s golf course is a landmark of Arizona. Though the three nine-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature design golf course is acclaimed and award-winning, the club thought it was time for some renovation.

The bunkers of all three courses now feature white sand imported from San Juan Capistrano — which won’t make getting stuck in them any more fun, but it will make the bunkers more beautiful. Green surfaces were covered with mini-verde Bermuda grass to give the course a more lush appearance and allow consistency of play.

So how do you best enjoy the beautiful new play at La Paloma? With Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, of course.

Book one of our golf packages in Scottsdale and Tucson for a chance to play not only La Paloma, but three courses during your stay. By playing three varying courses you have a chance to experience not only the varied beauty of Arizona golf courses, but you also have the chance to challenge your game by playing courses with varying degrees of difficulty.

For a more authentic Arizona experience, consider skipping the hotel and enjoying a luxury rental. Instead of a cramped hotel room, spread out in a rental that features cable and high-speed internet connections. Unlike traditional rentals, there is no long-term policy, you can rent a property for three days or six months, whatever your vacation requires. Check our great deals on properties at Mountain Vista Real Estate.

This week’s featured rental is the Rancho Vistoso Home, featuring a Jacuzzi, big screen televisions and leather couches. The Tucson property sleeps up to 6 and is the perfect place to relax after a long day on the greens.

Whether you’d like to visit a legendary golf course, or simply want to relax on the links for a few days, Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations has the perfect trip for any golfer.
