On this blog, we often talk about the great golf in Tucson and Scottsdale – and there’s a lot of great golf to discuss! But Southern Arizona is more than lush dessert golf courses and five-star accommodations, we also offer a unique culture that boasts great food and great celebrations. At Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations, we know that the best vacation has a little culture and a lot of golf!
June 24, visit Tucson for the El Dia De San Juan Festival, honoring St. John the Baptist. The people of Tucson join together for a procession and a blessing at the Alter in Mercado San Agustin. The celebration honors St. John, the patron saint of water, and marks the day monsoon rains begin building in the area.
Join the procession, or simply watch from the sidelines. After the blessing, see a charreada (Mexican rodeo), listen to mariachi bands, watch folk dancers and feast on southwest cuisine. Charros and excaramuzas perform equine feats for onlookers. Kids can get in on the fun too, playing traditional games and crafting at the celebration.
When you’re not celebrating the oncoming of the rainy season, spend time celebrating the beauty of our golf courses. Book one of our summer packages in Tucson and Scottsdale for a chance to play three rounds of golf at premier courses. Our vacation packages allow you to tailor your trip to suit your golfing needs. You can choose courses that challenge your game or select courses that best show off Southern Arizona’s diverse landscape.
For a more luxurious trip, consider booking one of our Loews Ventana Canyon packages. Each Loews package offers you three nights in luxury and two rounds of golf on the famous Ventana Canyon courses. When you’re not on the links, relax pool side, get a massage at their five-star spa or feast on tableside guacamole at the Flying V Bar and Grill.
Whether you’re interested in cultural celebrations or just want to get on the golf course, Tucson and Scottsdale Golf Vacations has a great trip waiting for you.
